Support Group Volunteers

Veterans Dementia Support UK is looking for volunteers to help with our Weekly support group within the local communities in Hampshire. The groups are made up of Veterans living with Dementia and their loved ones and during the 90 minute sessions we encourage the family members to chat with each other and the veterans have a reminiscing session usually about their service life.

From time to time we will have social events with entertainment and other events.

We also have an annual volunteer awards event to say thank you for everything that our volunteers do.

Skills

  • Listening Skills
  • Some understanding of Dementia or Veterans
  • Enjoy chatting with others
  • Willing to be part of a range of activities and reminiscing sessions
