Volunteer Treasurer

Veterans Dementia Support UK is a small but growing charitable organisation dedicated to supporting members of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services community who are living with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or memory loss. Operating as a volunteer-led initiative, the organisation brings together trained individuals with experience in dementia care to provide practical help, emotional support, and guidance to both veterans and their families. Its core mission is to ensure that no veteran facing dementia feels isolated, while also recognising the significant challenges experienced by carers and loved ones.

The charity focuses on delivering personalised and compassionate care, acknowledging that each individual’s experience with dementia is unique. Its services are designed to address not only the cognitive effects of the condition but also the emotional and social impact it can have on individuals and their support networks. By offering tailored advice and creating accessible support systems, Veterans Dementia Support UK aims to improve quality of life and promote a sense of community among those affected.

We are seeking a Volunteer Trustee to help with the management of our accounts, grant income and Gift Aid. Ideally someone who can help us maintain a clear balance sheet and end of year accounts in line with the Charity Commission Requirements.

The Treasurer will be an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees.

Skills

• Experience of charity finances including gift aid
• An eye for detail and ensuring we have a clear set of accounts
• Assist with overall financial management and budgets
