The Saturday Memories Club is a new dynamic community based group for anyone living with dementia and their families and also for anyone who would like to meet together on a weekly basis to make friends and take part in different activities and reminiscing sessions. This is a first for the local area as groups don’t usually take place on Saturdays
As a volunteer with the Memories Club, you will help create a welcoming, friendly, and inclusive environment for people living with dementia, memory loss, and their families, friends, and carers. Volunteers play an important role in helping members feel comfortable, valued, and supported while taking part in social activities, music sessions, conversations, and community events.
Volunteers will assist with setting up and tidying away activities, greeting members on arrival, and offering companionship throughout sessions. The role involves encouraging participation, listening with patience and understanding, and helping individuals engage confidently in activities while respecting their independence, dignity, and personal choices.
