Dementia Support Volunteer - Winchester

We are seeking Volunteers in Winchester for a new Coffee and Conversation Group for those living with Dementia and for their carers.

These sessions take the form of a coffee morning/afternoon where we make friends with each other and our volunteers welcome the guests, offer refreshments, talk to those with dementia and their loved ones.

Within the session, we provide some activities, reminiscing sessions and also support for the carers.

We will be located in Winchester and plan to hold weekly sessions and volunteers can come weekly or whenever they are available

Skills

We are seeking Volunteers who are interested in working alongside those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces and how dementia affects their lives. 

The volunteers need to have a:

• sense of humour;
• great communication skills;
• enjoy the company of others;
• willing to learn new skills;
• and enjoy being part of group sessions and social events.
