Assistant to help run a 'Games Cafe' at the Brownhill Community Centre

Age Concern Chandler's Ford is a small independent charity run entirely by volunteers. It operates from its premises at the Brownhill Community Centre in Chandler's Ford. It's focus is on supporting the elderly in the local community.

Age Concern is proposing to set up a 'Games Cafe' which will run every Thursday morning at the Brownhill Community Centre. Those who attend will have a range of games available (dominoes, chess, card games, scrabble, board games etc,) and tea and coffee will be served.

Because the 'players' are likely to be the elderly from the local community any volunteer will be required to have a DBS check.

Skills

The volunteer assistant will support the activity leader in helping to set up beforehand, putting up tables and chairs, putting out the various games, assisting with making teas and coffees and serving them, washing up and drying cups etc, assisting players with their games, helping to clear up at the end of each session ensuring the Centre is left tidy for afternoon use.
