Volunteer receptionists play a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment for visitors, patients and staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting visitors: Being the first point of contact, ensure visitors feel comfortable and supported.
- Providing information: Assist with basic queries, directing visitors to the right place, and offering information about groups, services, and upcoming activities.
- Administrative tasks: Handle simple admin tasks such as taking messages, photocopying, and sorting leaflets.
- Maintaining organisation: Keeping the reception area tidy and organised, ensuring it remains a welcoming space.
- Supporting individuals: Offer light support to individuals in distress, knowing when to get help from staff.
- Follow health and safety guidelines: Adhere to health and safety guidance to ensure a safe environment for visitors, patients and staff.
- Participating in training: Take part in training where needed to feel confident in your role.
