Beaver Team Lead

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic volunteer to take the lead of one of our established Beaver Colonies.

You will be joining a well-established section with an experienced team already around you, as well as support from the Team Lead of our other Beaver Colony. There will also be plenty of opportunity to work alongside the current Team Lead before taking on the role fully, so you will not be expected to simply step in and know everything from day one.

The role involves helping the team plan and deliver a fun, varied and engaging programme for young people aged 6–8, supporting other volunteers within the section and helping make sure the Colony continues to provide a safe, welcoming and exciting experience.

You do not need previous Scouting experience. Training, guidance and support will be provided, and the role can be shaped around the strengths of the person who takes it on.

Skills

We are looking for someone who is approachable, organised and enjoys working as part of a team.

Useful skills and qualities include good communication, the ability to encourage and support others, confidence making decisions when needed and a willingness to plan ahead. Experience of leading or coordinating people would be helpful, but it is not essential.

Most importantly, you should be enthusiastic about helping young people develop, willing to learn and comfortable working alongside an experienced team of volunteers.
