Scout Team - Assistant to Scout Team Lead

We are looking for someone to work closely with our Scout Team Lead and help support the organisation and development of our Scout section.

This is an ideal role for somebody who enjoys being involved in the delivery of Scouting but would also like to take on a little more responsibility behind the scenes. You could help with programme planning, coordinating activities and events, supporting other members of the team and stepping in to assist the Team Lead when required.

You will be part of an established team supporting young people aged 10½–14 and helping provide everything from weekly activities and practical skills through to camps, challenges and larger adventures.

The role can develop over time and is a great opportunity for somebody interested in building their confidence and leadership experience within Scouting.

Skills

You do not need previous management or leadership experience, but you should be comfortable working with others and taking responsibility for agreed tasks.

Good communication, organisation and teamwork are particularly useful, together with the ability to remain calm, practical and positive when plans change.

We would particularly welcome somebody who enjoys helping ideas become reality, supporting other volunteers and contributing to the planning and coordination of activities.

Previous Scouting experience can be useful but is not essential, as training and support will be provided.
