Musical Moments Group Helper (Fareham)

Make a difference through music, friendship and support.

Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW is looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to support our monthly Musical Moments group in Hedge End for people living with dementia and their family carers.

As a Musical Moments Group Helper, you will help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere by greeting attendees, serving refreshments, chatting with group members, supporting activities, and assisting the Group Lead and venue staff to ensure the session runs smoothly. Music has a powerful way of bringing people together, and your support will help people affected by dementia feel connected, included and valued.

Every fourth Tuesday each month 1.45pm-3.30pm.

Just a few hours a month could make a lasting difference to someone living with dementia. Join our volunteer team and help ensure nobody faces dementia alone.

Skills

We are looking for volunteers who are:

• Friendly, approachable and welcoming
• Caring, patient and empathetic
• Good communicators who enjoy talking and listening to others
• Reliable and able to work as part of a team
• Confident supporting group activities and encouraging participation
• Respectful of confidentiality and people's individual needs
• Passionate about making a positive difference in their community

Previous experience of dementia is not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
