Testwood Lakes Sailability (TLS) is a RYA affiliated Sailing Centre offering fully accessible sailing to disabled sailors on Testwood Lakes in Totton. We welcome both individual members and groups from disabled workshops, care homes and schools etc. We sail on Monday (excluding Bank Holidays) & Thursday from April to October. We have use of the Aquativity Centre which offers disabled accessible toilets and seating with disabled parking. There is a wheelchair accessible pontoon fitted with hoists to lift wheelchair users in and out of boats. Meetings can occur all year around.
The Board of Trustees is the ultimate governance body for TLS, serving as stewards of the organisation’s resources, and is ultimately responsible for TLS’ strategy, operations, adherence to law and regulation and financial management. The Trustees serve on a voluntary basis, and meet two-three times a year in Totton, Southampton.

Role Description of Chairperson:
- Represents and acts as a spokesperson for TLS and shows awareness and understanding of the charity.
- Respects confidentiality at all times.
- Chairs meetings; including committee meetings, open meetings and general meetings.
- Make sure meetings run smoothly and efficiently and keep to the business of the meeting.
- Sets the agenda for meetings.
- Coordinates the work of the committee to ensure effective administration.
- Supports other Trustees, committee members and authorises the work of the Treasurer.
- Gives advice and assistance in raising and maintaining the charity’s profile in South Hampshire.
- Adheres to data protection policy.
- Takes the lead in dealing with user complaints and grievances.
- Attends events locally to raise awareness & funds.
