Testwood Lakes Sailability (TLS) is a volunteer-run charity that provides dinghy sailing for people with any disability.
The charity started in a small way in 2016 with about 25 volunteers. We sail on Mondays and Thursdays from April to October. Volunteer training is normally held during February and March. In 2025, we now have 60 volunteers, and we need an admin support for the operation.
We are seeking to form a small team of administrators to support the sailing activity. This team will be able to work flexibly and at home. The role is mainly desk-based, so the applicants will need access to a phone and a computer. All of the charity's documentation is stored online in a Google Workspace using Google Applications such as Google Docs, Google Sheets and includes the Google Meet application so enabling the use of virtual meetings.
The following are examples of the tasks that are needed by the charity
- Keep the documentation up to date, for example, volunteer lists, customer lists, contact details, sailing records, and maintain the currency of the operational forms.
- Reply to email enquiries, and pass on information to the operation.
- To organise rotas for events such as collections, local fun days, and the local carnival.
- In the winter, to organise Volunteer Training days such as First Aid Courses. Identify the volunteers for the courses, book the accommodation and the instructor.
- To ensure that the information held by the Membership Secretary that is required for operations is available.
- Send announcements, information and upadtes via email to the charity's volunteers and customers and record the responses when required.
