Shopmobility Volunteers

Volunteers Needed!

Shopmobility in Petersfield opens from 10-4 Monday to Friday except Bank Holidays and it's run by volunteers. We work 3 hour shifts and usually this is just once a week, morning or afternoon. Some of us are stepping in to do more shifts just now because we don't really have enough volunteers. We could definitely do with a few more!

Friendly, confident, helpful and willing to learn? Interested in volunteering for 3 hours, one day a week?

We are a friendly bunch ourselves and will give full training to help you to find your feet. There is an application form which you can see when you register your interest. Or why not call into the shop on a weekday (we're open from 10-4) and have a chat about your interest in becoming a volunteer. Thanks, we need all the help we can get! 

Skills

You don't need any special skills, just being well yourself and willing to help others who may through illness, accident, or age not have the mobility they would wish to have to be able to get out a about. We sign people up for a years membership which only costs £5, demonstrate how scooters and wheelchairs work and hire them out for short or longer periods at very reasonable rates. So filling in forms, taking cash or card, answering the phone, keeping records and so on.

Other volunteers will spend time with you until you get the hang of things. You get to meet and help a wide range of people and it's a great local service to provide.
