Volunteer Admin & Community Support Assistant

Gosport Community Support is looking for friendly, organised volunteers to help with the day-to-day running of our busy local charity.

This is a varied role which can be shaped around your interests, skills and availability. You might help us make telephone calls to service users and volunteers, enter and update information on our database, carry out general admin tasks, prepare information or paperwork, help with volunteer recruitment and support, or lend a hand with community and fundraising events.

There may also be opportunities to help with other projects as they develop.

You don’t need to be able to do everything! We’re happy to match tasks to the things you feel comfortable doing and provide support and guidance along the way.

This would be a great role for someone who would like to support our work behind the scenes and help keep our services running smoothly.

Skills

We’re looking for volunteers who are:

• Friendly, approachable and happy communicating with people
• Reliable and organised
• Comfortable working as part of a small team
• Able to maintain confidentiality
• Willing to learn and ask questions when unsure
• Able to work accurately and follow agreed procedures

Basic computer skills would be helpful for some tasks, particularly email and entering information onto our database, but not every volunteer needs to undertake computer-based work.

Previous administration, customer service, reception or event experience would be useful but is not essential.
