Neurodivergent Arts CIC is a neurodivergent-led creative health organisation in its first year. We would love to hear from you if you would like to help us be part of a small Stakeholder Board to help us lay strong, sustainable foundations.
We aim for at least 75% of our Stakeholder Board to be neurodivergent or have close lived experience of neurodivergence (for example, as a parent/carer or family member). If you are an ally with these skills and share our values, we’d love to hear from you too.
This voluntary Governance & Compliance role will suit someone who enjoys keeping things tidy and on track. You’ll help us maintain simple governance systems so we can grow safely and transparently.
You will:
- Keep a light governance calendar and action log up to date
- Help maintain key registers (directors, policies, insurance, DBS, conflicts)
- Support us in recording clear minutes and decisions
- Turn requirements (e.g. Companies House, funder conditions) into simple checklists and templates
We’re looking for around 8+ years’ experience in governance/admin/compliance for a CIC, charity, social enterprise or arts organisation (or equivalent experience).
Time: 7–14 hours per month, including around 4 short meetings a year. This is an advisory/stewardship role (not a legal director position), with flexible, access-aware ways to contribute.
Skills
- Experience of governance and/or administration in a CIC, charity, social enterprise or arts organisation
- Familiarity with Companies House filings, organisational policies, risk registers and funding conditions
- Confident creating and maintaining simple systems: governance calendars, action logs, registers, minutes
- Strong record-keeping and attention to detail
- Clear written communication (minutes, summaries, one-page overviews)
- Calm, balanced judgement and ability to prioritise risks and actions
- Comfortable working with others to turn “governance speak” into user-friendly checklists and templates
