Volunteers Needed – Accessible Squash Session

We’re looking for a couple of friendly volunteers to support our Accessible Squash session on Tuesday afternoons (1–2pm) at Winchester Sport & Leisure Park.

No previous squash experience is needed — just a welcoming attitude and a willingness to get involved!

Our session supports adults with learning disabilities who are developing new skills through squash, including:

• Confidence
• Communication
• Teamwork
• Coordination
• Basic racket skills

It’s a warm, welcoming and fun session, and a really rewarding way to get involved in community sport.

What we’re looking for:

• Volunteers who can help one or two Tuesdays per month
• Friendly, patient and encouraging people
• A DBS check is ideal, but we can help arrange this if needed

We have 8 regular participants each week, who attend with their support workers from two local day service groups, so volunteers are part of a supportive team.

Skills

• No previous squash experience is required. 
• We’re simply looking for volunteers who are friendly, patient and encouraging, and who enjoy supporting others to take part in sport. 
• A positive attitude, good communication and a willingness to get involved are the most important qualities. 
• Volunteers help by encouraging participants, joining in with simple activities and helping create a welcoming atmosphere. 
• Being reliable and able to attend one or two Tuesday sessions a month would be very helpful. 
• A DBS check is preferred, but we can support volunteers in arranging one if needed.
