The volunteering opportunity we have is working with service users at our day service in Totton on a regular basis, supporting them with activities such as cooking, shopping, IT, discussion groups, sporting activities, etc. The day service runs Monday to Friday from 10.00am till 3.00pm and volunteers normally come in for a half day or full day each week although they can do more than this if they wish.
Skills
We are looking for responsible people with a kind nature who are keen to help people to get on with their lives and recover their independence after a brain injury. Volunteers do not need any particular skills or qualifications but a caring nature, patience, enthusiasm and commitment are essential.
This role offers volunteers an opportunity for personal development and experience of working with adults with an acquired brain injury and may be of particular interest to those involved in health and social care, psychology, biology, nursing and medicine, and related disciplines.
