Volunteers wanted for Otterbourne Care Home (Winchester)

We are looking for people to join our team of volunteers and support us at our wonderful care Home in Otterbourne for a few hours every week (we can be flexible, but generally ask for a few hours between 10-12 and 2-4pm Monday - Sunday.

These roles would require you to be positive, empathetic person  and demonstrate a willingness to help older people. Ideally, you will be a team player and happy to get involved in any aspect of the Home. This could involve getting residents to participate in activities, reading to them, playing games, going for a walk, chatting and keeping someone company.  You may also have a specific skill or interest you would like to share with our members; we’re always on the lookout for new activities – if so we’d be very interested to hear from you.

We provide you with bespoke training which includes: Induction, safeguarding, health & safety and first aid. There are also ongoing development opportunities available. We provide reimbursement of out of pocket expenses, such as travel and undertake an enhanced DBS check – at no cost to you. All volunteers are automatically entitled to free Brendoncare community membership, giving you access to a wide range of services.

We want people to have the best experience of working and living with us, we want our staff and volunteers to have the most up to date information and tools, and we want to respond quickly to, and learn from concerns when things aren’t right.

This role requires you to be a confident communicator and an empathetic, positive, calm and welcoming approach. No experience is required as all training will be provided.
