Oakhanger District, which covers the Petersfield, Bordon, Alton area are looking for a Treasurer to join their newly formed district, You will be working closely with the District Lead Volunteer and the Chair to ensure Scouting is safe and fun for all young people to enjoy in the area.
Our young people are able to take part experience and enjoy lots of different activities which some cannot access anywhere else. Including camping, climbing, archery, shooting, kayaking and much much more.
The Treasurer will provide sound financial administration, support and information to the Trustee Board.
The role will involve:
- Manage and monitor the financial activities of the District
- Prepare and present financial reports and accounts to the Trustee Board
- Leading the Trustee Board in the creation of budgets and financial planning and monitoring of these.
- Ensuring that all financial reports, annual statements of account and supporting documents (including receipts, cheque books and bank statements) are maintained accurately and in accordance with legal regulations.
- Ensuring that the District is financially able to function, has appropriate reserves and accounting procedures and controls in place.
- Prepare the Annual Statement of Accounts for independent examination and approval by the Trustee Board and presenting these at the Annual General Meeting.
- Administering the process of Independent Examination of the Annual Statement of Accounts in accordance with Policy, Organisation and Rules.
This role is mainly remote working from home, with in person meetings 4-6 times a year including an AGM.
