You will be a member of the Fareham & Gosport Voluntary Car Service (F&G VCS) Committee and will work as part of the team to run the service. You will be welcome to contribute to all subjects discussed there.
As treasurer, you will have specific responsibilities that are required to assure the financial health of our F&G VCS organisation. Though our organisation is small, and the volume of transactions is low, in principle, the role of treasurer would cover:
Oversight of the F&G VCS Bank Account
Owner of all tasks pertaining to the management of the bank account.
Includes managing changes to signatories & resolution of any banking issues.
Produce an annual budget
Running from 1st September thru to 31st August each year.
Finalised / approved by the committee in advance, by 31st August each year.
Maintain an ongoing Actual/Forecast vs Budget report
Updated monthly.
Revealing budget vs actual costs to date & forecast of all known future costs.
Manage the Expenses Process
Maintain a list of:
Recurring pre-approved expenses (e.g. mobile phone top up)
One off pre-approved costs
Include estimates of expected expenses in the Plan of Record
Receive, review, and reimburse, all pre-approved expenses
Manage Incoming Donations
Receive, record & bank monthly incoming Client Donations via the drivers.
Receive, record & bank any grants/donations and note any restrictions of use.
Provide a periodic “Treasurers Report” to the committee
Present the current Plan of Record, highlighting any new news.
Call out any Risks or Opportunities for committee consideration.
Report a summary of all reimbursed expenses this month.
Report a summary of incoming grants or donations this month.
Provide financial input to Service Improvement proposals
Skills
Comfortable with basic use of MS Excel, comfortable analysing data anomalies.
Attention to detail when it comes to completeness and accuracy of data.
