Social Group Helper - Fareham

Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW are looking for people to help out at our Support & Social Group in Fareham every Thursday afternoon 12.30pm-3.30pm.

We arrive at 12.30pm to set up the room with various activity tables to include arts & crafts, cognitive stimulation games and reminiscence. We also have a conversation table and a quiet table for those that wish to chat or read the newspaper.

We serve tea/coffee and biscuits throughout the two hour social.

Helpers will either host or help on an activity table, sit and chat with group members, or help with refreshments.

We have an annual day trip, which volunteers are invited join if they wish to, and a Christmas Party which is great fun for group members, staff and volunteers.

Skills

This role would suit anyone that is kind and caring and enjoys helping others. Lived experience of dementia through caring for a loved one would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
