Daytime Cafe Volunteer - Hanger Farm Arts Centre, Totton

Lovely NEW opportunity for a volunteers to join our Cafe Team at Hanger Farm Cafe in Totton.

This volunteer role is all about customer service; welcoming our customers to Hanger Farm and helping to serve them hot drinks and light snacks in an efficient, professional and friendly manner. There may be some requirement to use the till and to generally help with keeping the café area clean, tidy and attractive for our visitors.

Most importantly though, we are seeking volunteers who would be happy to work alongside and support our café apprentices (adults with learning disabilities) during the week. Excitingly, we currently have two apprentices undertaking work experience in the café, both of whom are very able to work independently, but who would welcome a little extra support and guidance with some specific tasks. During really busy times, we are really keen to ensure that both apprentices continue to feel fully supported.

Skills

• Some previous experience of working in a catering environment would be beneficial, though not essential, as all necessary training and support will be given.
• Ideally, we’re seeking regular help between 10am and 3pm each day, Monday to Friday, but in the short term, we would also welcome help on an ad-hoc basis as fits in with you.
