Day Centre Helper (Fareham & New Forest)

Do you enjoy being with older people?

The Age Concern Hampshire Care and Wellbeing Centres in Locks Heath, Dibden, New Milton and Yateley are looking for volunteers with a caring nature to join the staff team and help at the centre.

Your role would be to chat with the elderly people who attend the Centres. You would volunteer alongside paid staff and encourage attendees to take part in activities such as card games, puzzles and crafts.

The sessions run on Monday to Friday. and we would welcome your help on any of those days. Travel expenses can be paid and informal training given where required. No practical caring tasks are required of volunteers.

Skills

  • You will have a caring nature and feel comfortable talking to older people, some of whom have dementia.
  • No formal qualifications are required - just an easy going personality and a sense of humour.
