This is a varied role, with volunteers participating in a range of tasks supporting the guest experience in the museum.
Guest Marshal tasks include:
- Welcoming visitors to the museum and answering visitors’ general questions
- Learning about the exhibits and talking to visitors about them as appropriate
- Engaging with visitors and assisting wherever possible
- Helping to open up the museum ready to receive visitors and close at the end of the day
- Monitoring area volunteering in and assisting to keep the area clean and tidy for visitors to enjoy
- Opportunity to engage make new friends and work as a team with existing volunteers
- Opportunity to meet new and interesting people who visit the museum
Skills
- No previous experience is necessary, however customer service background would be an advantage.
- Good people skills to communicate well to our visitors
- Ideally,
basic tool skills are an advantage
- Friendly outlook and ability to work as part of a team
