Community Support Volunteer for new local initiative - supporting young adults with learning disabilities

Minstead Trust has recently launched an exciting new, Totton based, community initiative for young adults with learning disabilities (aged 20-25years) who have recently left college.

The aim of the programme is to:

  • build their confidence and safety in the community as they leave college
  • gain experience of accessing community resources and learning to access them without support

The programme will run from Eling Tide Mill every Friday.

  • 10am – 11:30am – classroom based, workshop style activity
  • 11:30-12pm – (lunch) break
  • 12 to 3pm –interactive and community based session focussing on the morning’s learning. It may support local travel training and possible sessions or outings in the community.
