Collections Volunteer

Volunteers are vital to the continued running of Diving Museum. The Collections Volunteer will support the museum team to care for the collection both in the museum and in the store.

Volunteer tasks 

  • Support the museum team to ensure collections are cared for as detailed in the collection Policy and Procedures documentation. 
  • Work closely with the Collections Officer to keep collection documentation up to date. 
  • Work closely with the Collections Officer following procedures to keep both collection items on display and in store safe. 
  • Be aware.

Skills

  • Volunteers from all backgrounds and experience are welcome, especially those who have an interest in working in the museums and heritage sector.
  • You will need good communication skills, an eye for detail, and be able to use a database.
  • Punctuality and reliability are important, as is a willingness to take responsibility for areas such as health and safety.
  • The role is suited to anyone who enjoys working with interesting objects and can complete a given task independently.
  • You will be volunteering under the guidance of the Museum Manager, supervised by the Collections Officer.
