Van Driver or Van Crew (4-8 hours per week)

Emmaus Hampshire is looking for volunteers who can commit to at least 4 hours a week to drive a Luton Van (standard car driving license required), or to be a van crew member, around the Winchester, Eastleigh and Southampton region. Emmaus receives furniture donations, sells donated furniture and undertakes house clearances, and our 2 Luton vans operate 7 days/week. Emmaus will also undertake house clearances upon request.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a charity whose mission is to be ‘Hampshire’s unique solution to homelessness’. A thriving social enterprise community, we provide a home, meaningful work and counselling to help our formerly homeless Companions regain their independence.

All our volunteers should have a can-do attitude, be without prejudice, and be able to be part of a successful team, working with our formerly homeless Companions.

For the Van Driver role, we are seeking a volunteer with who has van driving experience and is physically fit. Each van operates with a 2-3 person crew and the driver is an active member of the team who delivers, and receives, furniture from the customers premises. Good customer service skills are also required as the role routinely interacts with our customers, at their home. (Note: We also welcome applications from confident car drivers who have a desire, and aptitude, to learn to drive Luton vans).

For the Van Crew role, we are seeking a volunteer who is physically fit and able to assist the Van Driver with navigation around Hampshire. Each van operates with a 2-3 person crew who deliver, and receive, furniture from the customers premises. Good customer service skills are also required as the role routinely interacts with our customers, at their home.
