The Waterlooville Area Community Association (WACA) was established by the community, for the community, in 1974 and became a charitable incorporated organisation in April 2016.
Our Board
of Trustees make sure that the CIO has a clear strategy and is run in the
interests of the people it is there to support. The Board meets every six weeks
for a couple of hours and each trustee brings their own set of skills to
support the charity. In 2024, it is the 50th Anniversary of the community centre and so it is an exciting time to be involved as a Trustee.
Some of our Trustees also get involved in organising events for the local community and supporting some of our users. We are looking for around five people for the role of Trustees.
Skills
We welcome applications from all areas of the community who have a genuine interest in making the centre an affordable and accessible venue for the local community. Whilst skills such as financial, organisational and managerial are benefical, we also look for Trustees that give a voice to the community and help us evolve with the needs of the local area.
