We are seeking new Trustees to govern and lead the charity through its next stage of development.
Applicants will need to to share our vision, mission and values and be committed to fulfilling the responsibilities of a Charity Trustee.
Time commitment is structured around 6 meetings a year: quarterly Trustee meetings, an annual strategy meeting and the AGM. Additionally, we ask each Trustee to take a specific area of interest - e.g. service delivery, HR, fundraising: - and actively support/monitor the staff member/s involved on behalf of the Trustee board.
Applications are welcome from those with lived experience of disability and/or from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
Skills
Whilst those able to bring particular work-related skills that add value to our work are welcome, this is not a requirement.
Of greater importance is a commitment to developing the 'skills' necessary to be an effective Trustee. Whilst not exhaustive, these include: good team player skills within the Board of Trustees; Assertiveness skills to contribute effectively to debate and decision making; the ability to be constructively critical; good communication skills; the ability to be empathic and supportive.
