As a Trustee, you will help shape and oversee the charity’s strategy, governance, and key projects, ensuring sustainable and effective delivery of our 2025–27 Strategy. You will provide constructive challenge and strategic guidance to the CEO and senior leadership team, while championing the mission and values of More Education externally.
You will also contribute to working groups on governance, HR, safeguarding, finance, and education, helping to ensure that our policies, programmes, and projects align with best practice and the organisation’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Strategy
- Contribute to the development and oversight of More Education’s strategic direction.
- Monitor organisational performance against the 2025–27 Strategy.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations.
- Participate in trustee working groups covering governance, HR, safeguarding, finance, and education.
Project Oversight & Risk Management
- Advise on project planning and implementation, including school development and Community Hub initiatives.
- Support risk management strategies and help ensure robust internal controls.
- Provide insight on HR, safeguarding, and organisational policies.
- Advocacy & Partnerships Act as an ambassador for More Education, promoting its work and values.
- Support fundraising, networking, and partnership-building where relevant.

Essential

- Prior board or governance experience.
