Trustee

The aim and responsibility of every trustee/board member is to ensure that Age Concern Gosport operates in a manner which enables it to fulfil the objectives of its constitution, in as effective a manner as possible.

Age Concern Gosport is an independent local charity run by friendly volunteers providing a broad range of support services to help local residents aged 55+, their families and carers. It’s aims are to offer a form filling service for accessing Welfare Benefit Entitlements, providing information of local services, including domestic help, gardening, and social  community/support groups to encourage and empower people struggling with barriers and/or disabilities and often, social isolation.

• Volunteer Engagement: Support, engage, and help recruit volunteers.
• Funding: Identify and apply for funding to sustain services.
• Partnerships: Develop beneficial partnerships.
• Governance: Understand the constitution, review accounts, and raise awareness.
• Meetings: Attend and contribute to three Trustee Meetings annually.
• Financial Oversight: Ensure effective financial management and reporting.
• Operational Oversight: Ensure regular reporting from the Coordinator and proper record-keeping.
• Development Planning: Contribute to development plans and assess financial impacts.
• Risk Management: Identify, manage, and review risks.
• Delegation: Carefully delegate and ensure accountability in reporting.
• Promotion: Represent and promote the organisation at various levels.
