Petersfield Community Association is a local charity formed to run Petersfield Community Centre.
We are looking for community-minded individuals to join our Board of Trustees.
Trustees are appointed for 3 years (with one possible re-election) so we are always on the look-out for new ones for the sake of continuity.
The trustees have appointed a part-time manager and a team of volunteers to deal with the day-to-day running of the centre, so are only required to meet to discuss policy and ongoing issues, setting room hire charges, agreeing major expenditure etc.
Trustees meet approx. bi-monthly for an hour throughout the year. If they have particular skills they can be more involved than this (e.g. their are particular roles of Chair, Vice-Chair, House Manager & Treasurer that come vacant from time-to-time).
The Community Centre is a valuable local resource which offers affordable room hire to enable many local charities and community groups to meet together. This helps to eliminate social isolation and promotes well-being. Some of the 70 (approximately) groups regularly using the centre are:
- Age Concern (lunches twice per week)
- Stroke Support
- Petersfield U3A (many varied sub-groups covering science and the arts)
- Petersfield Academy of Dance (for children)
- Dog training
- Pilates & Yoga
- Hope Church
- Japanese Community School
- children's play groups
- WI
- Art & Craft groups
- Bridge & Scrabble groups
- Ballet for adults
Skills
- No particular skills are needed.
- However, any previous experience/skills will be put to use.

- The charity is a CIO so trustees have no personal financial liability.
