This year EBS Counselling Services celebrates 30 years of support for people in the Southampton and Eastleigh Areas. Our organisation is dedicated to providing accessible and inclusive counselling services for the residents of Eastleigh and Southampton.
Our amazing Treasurer is stepping down after 20 years dedicated service to EBS and we’re looking for a dedicated, diligent, enthusiastic new Treasurer to replace her.
The high level role purpose is to:
- Make sure that EBS remains as solvent as possible
- Prepare and manage accounts and make payments as appropriate
- Ensure that EBS money is properly managed and recorded
The Treasurer's role within EBS is vital to ensure our financial health and stability and also to maintain scrupulously accurate financial records for EBS.
Person specification:
Essential - The successful candidate must have experience in bookkeeping and financial management and be able to meet the required hours of between 3 and 5 hours a week. They must also be able to demonstrate that they meet the skill requirements detailed below.
Desired - Experience of financial management in a Charity is desirable.
Skills
Skills required are:
- Proficient with spreadsheets
- Strong numerical skills
- Good IT skills
The Treasurer’s main focuses within EBS are:
- Financial reporting
- Prepare monthly and annual budgets
- Prepare monthly and annual accounts
- Prepare draft annual reports to be audited and sent to the Charity Commission
- Book keeping, bills and banking
- Keep accurate financial records
- Pay bills
- Reconcile bank statements
Insurances
- Ensure that appropriate insurances are maintained
- Policies
- Ensure that a reserve policy is in place
- Ensure that funds are spent in accordance with EBS’s objectives
