We are looking for people to join us as Volunteer Walk Leaders on our Wellbeing Walks programme. We only have 5 walks in the borough and keen to expand this to include buggy walks, family walks, history walks, nature inspired, women's and men only walks. The ideas are endless!
Wellbeing Walks are short, sociable walks lasting between 10 - 90 minutes. Training is free to do and includes a short online module, followed by three hours of in-person training.
The next in-person training session will take place in September 2023 in Petersfield. Once you’ve done your training, you can help with existing walks or set up your own! We would be here to help! The opportunity is flexible in terms of where you lead your walk (in the borough), what day, time and how often the walk is. We have some weekly walks and a couple of monthly walks.
If you’re interested in volunteering some of your time to help support these incredible walks, please register your interest today!
Skills
We are just looking for enthusiastic people who enjoy walking and getting out in the outdoors, especially at weekends.
The person would be happy leading a walk or being a back up leader for a walk.
Full training is provided to give people the information / skills they need. Training is online but other options are available on request.
If you have an interest you want to bring to the walks, such as nature or local history, that is also encouraged!
