Creative Communications & Branding Project – Help Raise the Profile of a Local Community Transport Service

Clanfield Voluntary Support Group is a small, volunteer-led community organisation that has been providing transport services to local people for almost 50 years.

We are looking for a creative student or student team to help us raise awareness of our organisation and improve how we communicate with our local community.

Our service helps people who may otherwise struggle to access transport, enabling them to attend appointments, go shopping, access community facilities, take part in social activities and stay connected with others.

We would like to develop a stronger, more consistent and accessible public profile. We are open to creative ideas and would welcome students who can look at our current communications and suggest ways to make us more visible, approachable and easy to understand.

The project could include:

  • Developing a new or refreshed visual identity and branding
  • Creating a logo, colour palette and consistent visual style
  • Developing a website or website concept
  • Designing leaflets, posters and other promotional materials
  • Creating social media content and templates
  • Developing volunteer recruitment and information materials
  • Photography, illustration, video or other creative content
  • Ideas for increasing awareness of our service within the local community

This is a flexible project, and the final scope will be agreed with the successful student or team. We are particularly interested in applicants who can think creatively about how different forms of media and communication could work together.

You will have the opportunity to work on a genuine project for a real community organisation, develop your portfolio and create work that could make a lasting difference locally.

We can provide background information, access to existing materials and, where appropriate, opportunities to speak with volunteers and understand the experiences of people who use our service.

As a small voluntary organisation, we are looking for ideas that are not only creative but also realistic and sustainable for us to maintain after the project has finished.

Skills

We are looking for someone with an interest or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Graphic design and visual communication
  • Branding and identity
  • Website design or development
  • Digital and social media
  • Marketing and communications
  • Photography, illustration or video
  • Content creation and copywriting
  • User experience or audience research

You don't need to have experience in all of these areas. We are particularly interested in students who are:

  • Creative and able to develop new ideas
  • Good at understanding different audiences and their needs
  • Able to communicate clearly and in an accessible way
  • Interested in finding practical solutions to real-world challenges
  • Comfortable working with a small voluntary organisation
  • Able to consider accessibility and people with different levels of digital confidence
  • Reliable, organised and able to manage a project independently
  • Willing to listen to feedback and develop ideas collaboratively

This would be a great opportunity for a student looking to gain practical experience, develop their portfolio and use their creative skills to support a local community organisation.
