Support our Befrienders at Fareham Good Neighbours

We are looking for a someone who likes working with people to join us to support our Befrienders who visit our clients. Your two primary tasks will be to arrange a programme of regular Befriender Information Events on Zoom for potential new volunteers (max 30 minutes) and then to manage and maintain the Befriender Induction programme which volunteers undertake if they decide to volunteer with us.

You will be acting as the first point of contact for our befrienders, offering them support and information and a friendly and welcoming introduction to Fareham Good Neighbours. Training and on going help is available.

Skills

·        Good listening / communication skills.

·        Confident in delivering PowerPoint presentations to an audience on Zoom and answering questions.

·        Understands and appreciates the art of volunteering and can empathise with, and support, volunteers.

·        Caring, sympathetic, sensitive manner and non-judgemental approach.

·        Reliable and well-organised.

·        Experience of, and comfortable using email, Word, Excel, Zoom and online learning, and with access to a device suitable for working with Excel and Zoom.

·        Understands the need for boundaries, confidentiality and safe practices.

·        Able to work on your own.
