2428 (Hedge End) Squadron Air Training Corps is a local youth group in Hedge End and part of the national RAF Air Cadets, supported by the MOD. We have been in Hedge End for over 60 years, providing activities and development opportunities for young people aged 12 to 19 years old.
We offer a wide range of
activities from first aid to fieldcraft, Duke of Edinburgh's Award to
cyber skills and many more. We meet on two evenings each week (Mon &
Wed) and offer many weekend activities, often working with other
Squadrons around Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Vital to planning and
running these activities and supporting the cadets are our dedicated
adult volunteers and we'd like to build the small and friendly team
further. There's no need to attend every evening meeting or activity but
regular attendance will be needed to make the most of the opportunity.
Skills
We are looking for volunteers with all sorts of interests and skills, whether working in the background to provide admin support, planning activities and coordinating other volunteers or delivering activities directly with cadets. There are also opportunities to work with other volunteers in the county and to specialise in particular activities, particular for supporting activities at weekends.
No previous experience of cadets or the military is needed and there is lots of training and support available. Please register your interest to find out more, arrange a visit to the Squadron and hopefully to join our team.
