New Milton Community Garden is an RHS award-winning sustainable garden that is looking for more volunteers to help continue to create and expand the garden to produce fruit, vegetables and flowers, whilst attracting wildlife.
The garden is available for the local community to enjoy. We have a covered gazebo, two pergolas and 10 raised beds, two of which are suitable for wheelchair users and the garden is accessible.
At the moment we open on Wednesday afternoons and some weekend days which we might extend to accommodate our volunteers' availability.
Skills
The volunteering opportunities we have are seasonal maintenance, planting, digging (although not too much), harvesting, pruning, grass cutting, weeding and any other jobs around the garden that need doing.
No specfic skills are needed but a love of gardening, fresh air, exercise and meeting new people is desirable.
If volunteers are gaining experience for a qualification, tailored projects can be accommodated.
