Help Us Grow Volunteering at Our Community Centre!
Location: Stanmore Community Centre (Hybrid/Flexible)
Time Commitment:Approximately 1-3 hours per week (flexible); at least 1 hour during our business hours (Monday - Friday, 9am - 3pm)
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual to help us develop our volunteer programme.
This role is ideal for someone looking to build experience in volunteer management, community development and project coordination. Whether you're returning to work, changing careers, recently retired, or simply looking to use your skills in a meaningful way, we would love to hear from you.
We don't expect you to have all the answers. We're looking for someone who cares about community and would like to help us build something new. You'll work alongside our General Manager and staff to develop volunteering at the centre. Together we'll decide what works, learn as we go, and create opportunities for others to get involved.
What You'll Be Doing
- You will be working closely with the General Manager and help us develop our volunteer programme
- Assist with the recruitment of volunteers
- Welcome and support new volunteers
- Keep simple volunteer records and communications organised
- Help to create/update volunteer role descriptions and guidance
- Encourage a positive and inclusive volunteering culture
- Work with the General Manager and staff to identify new volunteering opportunities
Skills
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Is organised and reliable.
- Enjoys meeting and supporting people.
- Has good communication skills.
- Is willing to learn and take initiative.
- Can work independently as well as part of a team.
- Shares our commitment to supporting the local community.
- Experience in volunteering, community work, administration, customer service and HR is helpful but not essential.
