Would you like to make a real difference in your community?
Stubbington and Hill Head Voluntary Care Group is run entirely by volunteers. We help members of our community, who are primarily elderly, that need transport to any type of medical appointment in the local and surrounding area. We also provide a Befriending service.
We need additional Car Drivers with their own transport.
Do you have any spare time you could volunteer to help our community? Even an occasional half day would be very welcome.
- You would be volunteering your time but will receive mileage and any parking expenses.
- You choose on which day(s) you wish to offer your help and at which times - morning &/or afternoon.
- You choose which locations you wish to cover i.e. local area only, Portsmouth area or possibly also the Southampton hospitals.
- Accepting each drive offered to you is entirely optional, so you can easily fit your drives around your social life and any other commitments.
- You don't have to live in the Stubbington or Hill Head area to drive for us, but mileage is calculated from this area.
We offer a door-to-door service and wait while the client attends their appointment. Our service is greatly appreciated by clients and helping them can give you a great sense of purpose and the chance to meet new people. You would be joining a very friendly and helpful team.
