SharePoint Intranet Design & Engagement Volunteer

Are you looking to keep your skills fresh?? Do you need a project to put on your CV??  If so this could be the perfect opportunity for you. You could be our new SharePoint Intranet Design & Engagement Volunteer

Can you commit to around 1-2 days a week for around 3-6 months to help us shape our SharePoint site? This is a hybrid opportunity – can be homebased and or at our offices at Chilcomb House, Winchester.

Why do we need you ?

We’ve recently moved from Workplace (Meta) to Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, introducing our new HCT (Hampshire Cultural Trust)  Intranet, the digital heart of how we want our people to connect, collaborate, and share stories across our sites.

We know SharePoint can do much more, and we’re looking for a creative, technically minded volunteer to help us push the boundaries of what’s possible, shaping the look, feel, and usability of our intranet, and building confidence across our teams to use it well.

You’ll play a key role in helping us turn SharePoint into an engaging, inspiring, and user friendly digital workspace that truly reflects the values and culture of Hampshire Cultural Trust.

What we would like you to help us with is -

Work with the People and Internal Communication teams to review and refine the design & layout of the HCT SharePoint intranet.

Develop and embed design principles and templates that make content easy to navigate, accessible, and engaging.

Support the creation of interactive and dynamic pages (e.g. news, updates, staff spotlights, campaigns, document libraries).

Help train and upskill team members in using SharePoint tools, through guides, or short how to sessions.

These would be a bonus -

Explore creative ways to bring our brand, culture, and employee voice to life through the platform.

Collaborate with staff to gather feedback and continuously improve the site’s design and functionality.

Skills and Experience

We’re looking for someone who can has some or all of the following:

Essential:

• Good understanding of Microsoft 365, particularly SharePoint and Teams.
• Experience of designing or customising SharePoint sites or intranets.
• Confidence in helping others learn new digital tools, patient, supportive, and collaborative.
• A creative approach to digital communication and engagement.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of accessibility and user experience design principles.
• Familiarity with Power Automate, Forms, or other Microsoft 365 tools that could enhance the intranet experience.

Desirable:

Experience working or volunteering in or with a charity, public sector, or creative organisation.
