Sadly, our Chairman, who has been with the charity for 11 years and has served as Chair for seven years, will be stepping down in November this year. The Trustees are therefore looking for a new chair of the charity.
Ringwood Foodbank works closely with the range of churches in Ringwood, Fordingbridge and Verwood and an extended network of local frontline professionals. The main activity undertaken by the charity, which has been in operation since 2013, is the relief of food hardship and poverty for individuals and families living in and around the area. This is primarily achieved through the collection of ambient food products donated by individuals, schools, churches and other community groups.
The Foodbank has 130 volunteers who operate the three distribution centres, in the towns noted above and the warehouse, based in Ringwood, on a day-to-day basis. With an annual income of £100,000 the organisation continues to support families in need with food and other essential supplies, together with part funding two case workers who advise and assist clients to work their way out of poverty. These advisors are employed by the Citizen Advice New Forest. Ringwood Foodbank has no paid employees.
