Retail in Eastleigh

Emmaus Hampshire recently revamped their pre-loved shop in central Eastleigh, and would like to hear from people who can contribute to the successful establishment of this exciting venture for the charity.

We are looking for volunteers who can reliably commit 0.5 -1 day/week to help operate the new store, working alongside our Companions. Teamwork will be essential. In addition skills in interacting effectively with customers, and pricing and merchandising of donated pre-loved goods would be valued.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a charity whose mission is to be ‘Hampshire’s unique solution to homelessness’. A thriving social enterprise community, we provide a home, meaningful work and counselling to help our formerly homeless Companions regain their independence.

Skills

1. Team work: Form and operate an effective team, in the store, with the Emmaus companions.
2. General retail skills: Effective customer interactions, pricing donations for sale, and attractive merchandising. Establish this revamped charity shop as a "go-to" store in Eastleigh.
3. Commitment and reliability: The shop will be open 7 days per week and will be reliant on a fully-staffed volunteer/companion team to operate.
