We are seeking a Membership Secretary who will enroll members, distribute documentation and manage the members area of the show to include the catering arrangements.
This is a voluntary position with reasonable expenses reimbursed.
The Ellingham and Ringwood Agricultural Society is a registered charity with the objective of running an annual show and donating the surpluses for charitable purposes. We work in the Ringwood area.
Nine trustees are responsible for the governance of the Society and the membership secretary will be a standing trustee.
You will be supported by the existing Membership Secretary during an extended handover period.
Skills
Communication skills - with the Society has approximately 600 members, prospective members and catering contractor throughout the year. Also with trustees and fellow volunteers of the Society and Show Committee.
IT skills - use of spreadsheets to manage customers orders; keeping track of membership details, payments and requests from members.
Personable - a friendly team of show committee colleagues will work with you to ensure each year is a success. The current Membership Secretary will work with you in a handover period to ensure a smooth transition into the fully independent position.
Group activities - there are regular monthly meetings of the Society's Show Committee to prepare for the annual show which is held in August. Meetings of the Trustees for governance purposes.
