What will I be doing?
As an Events Volunteer for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA), you will play a key role in supporting the charity’s presence at various events. Your responsibilities will include:
- Attending a variety of events: Supporting both community and corporate events to promote the work of HIOWAA.
- Engaging with the public: Starting a life long relationship between members of the public and the charity. It is as simple as having a chat with them.
- Providing information: Acting as an information source for the public, answering questions, and raising awareness about the life-saving work of HIOWAA.
- Collecting donations: Engaging with event attendees to collect donations using collection buckets and other methods provided.
- Assisting with event logistics: Helping with setting up and dismantling stalls, displays, and equipment at events.
- Supporting volunteer recruitment: Encouraging members of the public to join the HIOWAA volunteer team, helping to grow the charity’s network of supporters.
This role is ideal for those who enjoy meeting new people, engaging with the public, and supporting a vital cause.
Skills
Good communication skills: The ability to confidently engage with members of the public and answer questions about HIOWAA’s work.
Friendly and approachable: Being welcoming and personable to encourage positive interactions at events.
Teamwork: Willingness to collaborate with other volunteers and staff to ensure the smooth running of events. You will also be involved in training other volunteers.
Flexibility: Adaptability to different types of events, environments, and tasks.
Interest in HIOWAA’s mission: A passion for supporting the charity’s life-saving work and promoting its impact.
