Havant & Waterlooville Child Contact Centres provide a completely free opportunity for children from separated families to spend time with the parent they no longer live with in a safe & welcoming environment. Some families find it difficult to make these arrangements themselves, often because the trust between the parents has broken down. In these situations the children suffer as they are unable to build and maintain a relationship with the parent they do not live with. Providing an opportunity for quality family time to continue while families sort out their differences significantly reduces the risk of children being adversely affected by the changes within their family.
Both our centres are accredited with the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC) to provide Supported Contact. This is where several families attend the sessions at the same time and their time together is supported by suitability trained volunteers. The organisation is run by a management committee who meet 4-5 times a year to ensure that the centres maintain the high standards set down by NACCC and to provide support to the paid coordinator and the volunteers.
Skills
We are looking for individuals who work, or have worked, in family law, childrens' social services, education or other related professions with skills and knowledge of complex family situations that they can bring to the committee to support and enhance the ongoing work of the organisation.
