This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in an engaging, decision making role in the leading independent charity for older people in the New Forest. To help us achieve our goals we need experienced members of the public to join our board.
As a volunteer trustee you will share our vision and values and will have commitment and drive to promote the wellbeing and independence of older people, in all their diversity, helping them live longer and more fulfilling lives.
As a trustee you are responsible for the performance of HOPe, for its impact upon stakeholders and for its corporate behaviour. You will be a steward of our assets, both tangible and intangible, taking care over their security and you must ensure that our governance is of the highest possible standard.
Working with the General Manager, trustees must ensure that our charity has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction and is focused on achieving these.
This is a governance not an operational role.
It is a vital role, helping ensure we can continue our support for older people living in the New Forest. As a trustee, you will have a real opportunity use your unique skillset to help the strategic progression of the charity. These skills can be in financial management, marketing, promotion, strategic planning or perhaps previous Trustee Board experience. Ideally you will have some experience of working with older people.
The time requirement is flexible. As a minimum you will need to attend four (morning) meetings a year, deal with any matters that may arise between meetings and occasionally lend a hand with public events.
