Chairman of Trustees

Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire.

Commitment: Approx. 1-2 days per month.

Velmore Community Association invites you to become our next Chair. This exciting role offers the opportunity to help shape the way we deliver our charity objectives of providing a Community Centre and improving the conditions of life on the Velmore Estate.

The Community Centre is open 5 days a week with some weekend activities and runs a Community Café as well as community focused activities. Rooms within the Centre are available for hire. The VCA currently has 5 paid staff.

The Chair:

• Heads the trustees in effective governance of the charity, including chairing meetings of the trustees and other key meetings.
• Provides leadership to VCA in a collaborative style, engaging with the trustees, staff, volunteers and supporters to set and implement our strategy and annual plan.
• Provides a figurehead and spokesperson where appropriate.

The Chair is supported by:

• Treasurer, who leads on financial management (already in post)
• Company Secretary (already in post)
• Our Trustee team.
