We use creativity to make happy brains!
Fluid Motion Theatre Company is an award-winning arts and health charity based in Totton, Hampshire. Founded in 2010 at University by two drama students with lived experience of poor mental health, we use theatre and creative activity to support the mental health and wellbeing of children, young people, and families. We are rooted in the belief that creativity can help people build resilience, improve confidence, and discover healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges.
Since 2010 we have helped around 13,000 children and young people, created five touring shows that raise awareness of mental health topics and performed to over 26,000 people. We have trained 210 volunteers, supported 157 young people to gain a qualification, helped hundreds of young people and adults into further training or employment. We have welcomed over 35,000 people to our community events, workshops, and festivals, giving them access to free or low-cost creative opportunities that improve cohesion and reduce isolation.
From our Creative Hub in Totton Shopping Centre, we currently welcome over 1,000 people annually, offering drop-in arts sessions, youth theatres, early years programmes and exhibitions, all wellbeing-focused projects.
