Fareham & Gosport Wellbeing Centre
Are you passionate about supporting others with their mental wellbeing? We’re looking for friendly and committed volunteers to help us deliver our recovery‑focused courses.
Time commitment:
- Minimum of 2 hours per week per course
- Courses which run on Monday and Friday mornings
- Additional time may be required for supervision and initial training (mandatory induction, online training and role‑specific training provided)
About the role:
As a Course Assistant Volunteer, you’ll support our Course Facilitator in delivering wellbeing and recovery courses. This role does not involve leading groups or facilitating sessions — instead, you’ll be offering supportive, practical help to create a safe and encouraging learning environment.
You’ll use your lived experience of mental health to:
- Support and encourage participants
- Help inspire confidence and hope
- Contribute to a welcoming, non‑judgemental space
- Assist people to develop self‑help skills, reduce isolation, socialise, and try new activities
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in the mental health and charity sector while making a meaningful difference in your community.
We are particularly looking for volunteers available on:
- Monday mornings, and or
- Friday mornings (this course is delivered in Fareham)

- Self‑esteem
- Lifting Low Mood
- Managing Emotions

Skills
- Helpful, friendly attitude.
- We ask volunteers to commit to a minimum of 6 months due to the level of checks and training required.
- Enhanced DBS check is needed for this role.
