Musical Group Leaders - Countywide

Thanks to National Lottery funding Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW are expanding their services across Hampshire in 2024.

Our Musical Moments Groups are held monthly for people living with dementia and their family carer.

Local choirs, ukulele bands and musicians come and provide a 45 musical moment for our group members followed by tea/coffee and cake.

We are looking for volunteers to lead a group once a month for 2 hours.

The role will involve working with the venue staff to welcome our community members. Being the main contact for the music provider on the day, and working with other volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the event. Full training will be given and you will be supported by our Peer Support Coordinator.

Skills

This role would suit anyone that is kind and caring and enjoys helping others. Lived experience of dementia through caring for a loved one or working in social care would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided. You will need to be confident, a good communicator, and have experience of facilitating events or groups.

There is no requirement for you to be musical, as the musical moments are provided by the community.
