Currently there is an opportunity to join Langstone Good Neighbours as a Coordinator. The group offers the local community medical appointment transport, befriending and shopping and is an essential service in the Langstone area.
Langstone Good Neighbours is supported by the Good Neighbours Network which incorporates over 120 independent voluntary groups across Hampshire.
You as group Coordinator would have ongoing support from the group and the Network on best practice with access to invaluable resources and advice.
Some admin experience would be desirable and the group can help with induction and training.
The role involves receiving requests from people who would like help from the group and then to match this person with an available and appropriate volunteer.
The role will require the Coordinator phone to be available between 10am and 5pm Monday to Friday. The Coordinator is expected to check messages once a day and call clients back by the next day.
You can offer a 2 month commitment and there will be a rota system in place.
You will have a contract mobile phone to enable you to undertake the role from home.
Expenses are reimbursed by the group.
You will become part of an active and supportive team whose aim is the wellbeing of elderly people. You would be an integral part of a rewarding and worthwhile enterprise.
If you would like to join the Langstone team and help people by offering some of your time then register your interest today.
There are also opportunities to join Good Neighbours teams across Hampshire.
